Charlotte's Premier Landscape Design & Build Company
To get started, a little history of Fine Edge Landscape Design
After several years in the construction business building custom homes and log cabins, I decided that the hardscape field was a better fit for myself.
One, I hated the heights that came with the building industry. I needed to be on the ground!
Two, I still loved to build things. The covered bridges, waterfalls, streams and stone walls of New England helped to push me into the custom landscape design field.
Enter 1992, I moved back to the Charlotte area, got married to the sexiest hot mama on the planet and decided to start Fine Edge Landscape Design. The beginning was mainly softscapes and maintenance which gradually transformed into small paver projects and stone walls. The maintenance was boring. I wanted to build!
My brother , Mike, joined the team in 1995. Finally, someone to talk to. Working by yourself all day, everyday, made you start talking to yourself to ease the quiet.
We educated ourselves on proper base compaction, structural stability and the varying design elements that we wanted to build. As the years went by, low voltage landscape lighting, outdoor fireplaces, fire pits and outdoor kitchens started to become the norm. For more than a decade, we have specialized in complete custom outdoor living areas.
In 2013, we opened our outdoor living design center and bulk landscape supply yard, Visions Landscape Supply and Design in Monroe
QUALITY MATTERS
All of our projects receive the same 5 year warranty on paver installation and 10 year warranty on all other hardscape items such as retaining walls, outdoor fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, stone columns, etc.. One of our "sub specialties" would be taking on the challenging projects. The ones that others won't or don't know how to install. We have found, with just a little bit of extra thought and common sense, there are not many landscape design scenarios that can't be completed.
Sometimes those challenging projects come at a slightly higher cost. Coordination between several contractors, permitting, weather and the constant flow of materials takes additional time. Fine Edge Design prioritizes each phase of a design which allows us to keep a steady work flow throughout the project.
All of our clients are treated the same. We're all human beings on this Earth and nobody is any better than the other. If you drive a beat up Ford Escort or a new Bentley, it doesn't matter, it's the same price, my overhead doesn't change based on clientele.
We're not the cheapest. We're not the most expensive. What we are is honest, loyal and dedicated to our clients. We provide a high quality service and we spend a lot of time going over different options. For many of our projects, it's inevitable that additional time is going to be spent picking out materials, delivering samples, design revisions & sub-contractor meetings. That's one of the reasons why we may have a consultation or design fee. We don't cut corners by ordering inferior materials or building sub-standard projects. If Fine Edge Design is designing and building your project, the quality of that project will far exceed the dollar amount spent.
In our gallery you will be able to view pictures of our projects that span over 3 decades.

Our Outdoor Living Design Center - Visions Landscape Supply & Design
Opened in the Spring of 2013, we are now headquartered at our retail location in Monroe, NC. Our outdoor living design center and bulk landscape supply yard features many of the Unilock, Techo-Bloc and Rosetta lines of paver and walls on display. This gives our clients a very good idea of how their project will look upon completion. In addition to several brands of pavers, we also have many different selections of synthetic and natural stone to choose from.
The retail location gives us the opportunity to provide many different outdoor living accessories to our clients. Some of these include grills, Adirondack poly lumber furniture, firepits, fountains, yard & wall art as well as ceramic pottery. Combining our landscape design/ build company and a retail location allows us to show our 3-D designs to clients and have them choose their materials all at the same location. Stop by and see us or call to set up a Saturday appointment. We are conveniently located at 2411 N. Rocky River Rd. in Monroe, NC. Visions website: www.visionssupplyanddesign.com/ |
